CHAPTER SEVEN
“Have you gone mad?” She screamed at the top of her voice, the sound echoing in her skull and racing quick to the pit of her stomach as she stood from her former position on the floor to face the main perpetrator she should have dealt with from the beginning.
“It has barely been twenty-four hours but you're here frolicking with another lady?” Her eyes flamed like a thousand mansions on fire and her nose breathed out the smoke from the flaming mansions tirelessly.
She just couldn't bear to think with her right senses and bottle up the heart aches she felt deep in her chest. There just needed to be an outlet and she wasn't ready to close that outlet just yet.
“How dare you, David? How dare you make love to another woman barely twenty-four hours after our divorce?” Her chest rose and fell like an elephant's stomach and her eyes reddened far darker than a healthy blood.
“And how did you manage to sneak out of jail?” She added more, barely giving anyone time to recollect themselves nor a chance to even think of an answer.
“You know how much your breaking out of jail is going to cost my reputation, how many people will tie your escape on my neck and career?” Her diversion was swift as she took a step closer to David, hands ready to lay themselves illegally on his face and heels on the rise to step mercilessly.
“Of course you'll never know about that because you're selfish and self-centered, always thinking only of yourself and your pauper condition,” Sandra, never known for gentleness, did not try to gather any as an apology to what she had just done as her spittle literally fell all over David's face.
But she just went on unperturbed, shutting her other senses from playing their parts in helping matters.
“Sandra,” Dustan called out, stepping closer, hands outstretched, ready to give a hug in order to stop her hands from flying dangerously around again.
“Oh, please stay out of this,” she thundered at him, gesticulating wildly to keep him in place. Also allowing her flailing arms to explain how good they could be on human flesh and bone if anyone ever tried her.
“Just imagine what such an affair will do to my name?” She kept on breathing more from her eyes and ears than from her nose as she eyed David, leaving the lady to groan on the floor without help nor compassion.
“Sandra, stop it,” Dustan called again, rushing to Roseline's side to help pull her up. “Stop it, now!” He screamed at her, beginning to lose his cool and the admiration he harboured towards her especially as he had broken free from the romantic name calling.
“Stop it, too, you lunatic,” she thundered back, fury facing the opposite direction to send home a point to Dustan.
“Who the hell do you think you are to tell me what to do?” Her eyes and ears expanded more and more with every heavy breath she inhaled.
“You're making things difficult, Sandra. This is…” he pointed towards the lady on the floor. “She is…”
“I don't care who the fuck she is coz she's obviously not someone important,” she spat angrily, her face reddening even more. “A diseased whore, that's who she is. You can't tell me otherwise,” she went on strongly, fist clenching by her side and teeth clenching with all amount of hatred.
“Sandra please, calm down. Do you know who you just punched?” Dustan sighed heavily, trying the calm approach, an approach that he had to gather much willpower to use and which he was almost certain wouldn't even make a dent in solving matters.
“Oh, for fuck’s sake, I don't give a damn who the whore is. In fact, I have no business with her, but with this motherfucker here,” she pointed aggressively at David who just watched her outburst with a smile on the corner of his lips, enjoying the lunatic shown but still in surprise with her kind of behavior.
Giving up, Dustan quickly guided a stunned Roseline to a seat at the far corner of the room, constantly repeating apologies over apologies.
“She doesn't always behave that way”, “She's high from a wine we took before coming”, “I promise, we'll make up for this”
Dustan's calm voice was almost useless as Roseline was already getting ready for a retaliation as her hands were already moving quickly and hideously while she let her ears catch some of Dustan's words.
But David was quick to rush early enough to stop the bottle of wine Roseline had cleverly picked up, from flying across to the human talking machine who had refused to turn off.
He had his spy years to thank for and his athletic build to help him better.
“It's not worth it. She's just crazy,” he tried to placate her anger after moving fast in seconds. “Don't give much heed to someone like her”.
But the words, unfortunately, had found their way to Sandra's hearing and she was already advancing closer like a mad Tigress to devour the speaker.
It was now Dustan's turn to come to aid. “ Stop it, at once, Sandra!!!” His voice grew ten times, enough to shock Sandra to freezing and draw attention to himself.
“You've spoiled everything for us!!” He flamed, the anger visibly flying to his head, his hands moving to scratch his head frustratingly and his complexion switching from Greek god to Lucifer.
“Look what you’ve done!!! Can't you see Roseline in the room?” He cried out, his face contorting more with concern than rage and his breathing becoming uneven and strange like a vampire ready to transform.
“Can't you see that she's been watching all this while and we might stand no chance?” His voice grew to a vibrating crescendo, just as his eyes darkened the more.
With those words, Sandra's anger turned to ice immediately as she spurned around to search for Roseline Denver. “Where?”
