Triggered by the words “bad man” I took Olivia by her good arm, and pulled her towards the kitchen, away from the risk of little ears. The boys were in their room hanging out and wouldn’t be around for a while.

“What was that about a bad man?” I asked.

Olivia tried to look away, but I wouldn’t allow it. Making her look at me with a hand on her chin.

“Talk to me, pumpkin.”
