My eyes snapped open.

I was lying on the cold ground and not on the bed with dirt under my cheek, leaves stuck to my skin and my hands were empty. No cuffs, no silk sheets, and definitely no Damien.

I sat up fast, heart pounding. My body felt normal. No soreness, marks or heat lingering between my thighs.

It had been a dream.
