This is bad. Rex saw me tangled up with Timothy. What must he think?

But what right do I have to explain?

Rex and I—we're nothing to each other. Not yet.

Still, tomorrow's the weekend. I'm going to his estate. At minimum, I can thank him in person. Maybe ask about the accident ten years ago.

I asked Timothy about it once. He claimed it was too long ago to remember. Now I realize how blind I was—never questioning whether he was actually the man I'd been searching for.
