“Uh?” My fingers trailed the soft skin of Eden’s face. “Are you scared of me?”

She stared back at me silently, I could hear how loud her heartbeat is from here, her huge caramel-colored eyes dancing in uncertainty and fear, but I wasn’t going to hurt her.
