Chapter 7

Lyra's POV

The next morning

"Rise and shine warlock!" Someone said.

When I opened my eyes the first thing I noticed was a woman standing in front of my window stretching my blinds as far as they could go and two other women standing at my bed and pointing torches directly at my eyes.

Instinctively I closed my eyes right back to protect them as they were closed.

Someone grabbed my wrist and pulled me up to my feet.

"Why are you wasting time getting up! A Luna should be awake before every other member of the pack but here you are sleeping like a baby!"

As the sleepiness was clearing away from my eyes I recognized the voice.

"Aurora?" What came next was a disgusted hiss and her grip on my hand tightened hard enough to leave imprints by the time she lets go.

I wanted to speak up for myself. The words of defense I was dying to say were loaded in my chest but it never went past my lips.

“ You are hurting me.” I muttered.

She finally released her grip on me and as I expected there were bruises on my hand, she looked down at them and instead of feeling even a little bad she seemed even more repulsed by me.

"Is that how easily you bruise? You warlocks are really something." She said as if she had not been holding my wrist with all the strength in her hand.

"Let's go now, your training begins this morning..."

I looked out, the sun was not even partially close to peeking out from the sky.

"But it's still so early..." I managed to say. I wasn't even being outright disagreeable with her but that singular comment made by me that did not immediately go with the flow instantly aggravated her.

"And do you think I'm awake by this time because I want to be? I'm making the time out of my day to help you and you're complaining that it's too early?.”

“Why don't I take this to the council?" That threat got to me.

As supportive as Karl has been, I just didn't want to be more of a burden to him than I already was. I took a deep breath as I stood, wondering if I had just entered my biggest nightmare.

"Your first training will be a physical one..."she said after handing me a torch and leading me outside of the packhouse house.

As she explained these things the two maids that she had brought with her were constantly giggling amongst themselves and I could feel their gazes on my back, without being told I knew I was the laughing stock of whatever joke they were telling but I had already been called the cruelest of words possible I doubt they could come up with anything new and creative that would actually hurt me.

"Your training will take 5 days..." She continued to explain as we moved further down then we came to a large massive clearing covering several acres of land.

"Now for this first one that is physical you will have to prove how strong you are...." She pointed down at a tiny green peas in front of us.

"This green peas and several others have been planted all over the training field, retrieving at least seven before the sun rises..."

With the light I was still getting from the dimmed sun I barely could see anything, the green peas were as tiny as a microscope.

"Can't I just do it in the morning properly? I can hardly see anything in front of me."

She pointed at the torch in my hand. "What do you think this is for a dummy?"she snapped at me,

"you claim you want to be Luna and yet you can't do something this simple? Doesn't matter if you are a warlock you still need to be physically strong to lead this pack next to our Alpha so what are you waiting for?the time is ticking."

I swallowed thinking that I would have to carry on with more tests like this for the following days but I gathered my courage and started to run.

Like a mad woman I searched around the field, l and my feet getting sore after moving around in a circles my only relief was when I would pick up some green peas and thankfully in last than two hours I picked up the seven green peas, if there is one thing u was proud of, if being a warlock is that my sight is more sharper than anyone.

I came back to Lady Aurora and handed her the green peas.

"What am I going to do with them? they were just for this test" she said and then through gritted teeth continued,

"looks like she managed to pass this test but this is perfectly that easiest one and we're not done yet."

She looked at me with a blazing determination in her eyes and was aimed to hurt and utterly destroy me.
