My ears tingle as I stare at him.

“Regrets…? Disgust? Those are very strong words…” I say, dropping my pen.

He nods and begins adjusting on the couch. In a few seconds, he’s stretched out on it, filling up the entire space.

Hands beneath his head, he keeps his eyes on the ceiling. He gets like this whenever we’re in Scott’s office, like we are today. I was practically hijacked while on duty.
