“Sophia’s a lovely girl,” Barbara says, legs crossed and sipping a mocktail on the couch next to me.

We’re at our reserved space at Vertigo—a rooftop bar.

I turn my head to her, staring into her eyes because I know she has more to say. Barbara is Dimitri’s CFO and oversees the London branch of DMI. Sophia was a regular shopper.
