Alexander keeps his head hung on my right shoulder and slowly peels my hands off my face.

My cheeks burn.

“Why?” He asks, turning his face in my direction.

I fidget with my skirt, wishing it were a lie—an excuse, so he doesn’t touch me, but it’s not. And I don’t know how to tell him.
