Alexander’s POV

Garvey goes inside the Rolls-Royce and shuts his door.

Instinctively, my nose gravitates toward her neck, dragging in her scent like it’s air. I wrap my other arm around her and just stay there like I’ve got all the time in the world.

She sobs softly, warm breath caressing my jaw. Her body shakes on each sniffle she makes.

And soon, I start to stroke her back, gently, patiently, allowing her to let it all out.
