Behind the partition, in the back seat of my car, I stare at my wife, watching her put on a thick black fur coat and do some last-minute touch-ups as we get ready to join the rest. We’re outside THE STERLING, the exclusive restaurant Sophia and I had dinner at months ago, in her color-of-the-summer dress.
