“Girl, look at your glow!” Barbara gushes and laughs next to me on the rear seat, pushing her hair out of her face with long almond-shaped nails.

Words fail me miserably as I stare at her. I try to piece clues together in my head. But nothing adds up. How did I not know we’d come to London? When did London become a place that means a lot to him?
