Alexander’s POV

Sophia makes a sound, and I’m forced to drop my eyes to her, watching as she stirs. Her eyes flutter open, partly lidded. She’s taken off her contact lenses, so I know she probably can’t see clearly.

“Alexander,” she mumbles.

“Go back to sleep, my love,” I mutter, taking the opportunity to slide my fingers out of her grip and lean over to kiss her forehead.
