Sophia’s POV

First, Alexander drops the sunflowers and my purse on the console table, then slips out of his shoes and squats to put on a pair of black silk slides. Sniffing, I slip a finger beneath my glasses, stopping my tears at the outer corners of my eyes and watching him take out my pink fur slides.

Still busy at the console table, he glances over his shoulder at me and breaks into a short laugh; it’s beautiful. I reciprocate, letting out a tiny laugh before pressing my lips together ...
