Zyrich woke up from her slumber when she felt a tickling sensation on the back of her neck. The soft fabric of the mattress and the fluffy bed are a first time for her. She had never slept on that kind of bed before. So, she intended to sleep more, but when she remembered where she was, her eyes opened instantly.
“Good morning, my love,” the Alpha greeted her. His raspy voice tickles her ears.
Gael was on top of her, showering her with light kisses on her neck and face. Her eyes widened and her heart started pounding hard as fear slowly crept up her spine. She looked at him only to find him already staring at her.
“G-Good morning,” she murmured.
The Alpha smiled. “How about we start our morning with a sweet exercise, my love? Can I eat you for breakfast?”
Zyrich stopped breathing for a second, shock at what she heard. She is a virgin and she has no knowledge about any sexual intercourse. What if he found out that she is not his wife?
“I-I...” she tried to speak, but no words escaped her lips.
She was dumbfounded.
“I really miss you, my love,” Gael whispered to her ear.
She gasped as the big bad wolf started nibbling her earlobe. Strange sensation slowly rises inside her, especially when the Alpha's hands start roaming around her body. Her heart and mind were in chaos, stopping her body from responding.
“You smell so good, my love,” he said while sliding down the strap of her nightdress.
She didn't know what to do or respond. So, she just bit her lips to suppress the strange emotion building up inside her. What if she stops him from what he is doing? Is he going to get angry? Will he suspect her of being a fraud?
Zyrich closed her eyes tightly when the Alpha cupped her breasts, exposing them successfully. He didn't just stop there because he started massaging them while playing with their mounds with his tongue.
“G-Gael,” she mumbled to protest, but her voice betrayed her, and it came out as a moan.
The tingling sensation that lingered inside her was all new to her. As a virgin, she carefully reserved herself for the man who would catch her heart. She never let any men touch her. Thinking about that made her emotions erupt. She can feel her face getting warm, and tears start to form in herhad eyes.
The Alpha is a stranger. She only knew him through the papers that Floryna gave her. Although he is a nice man, the fact that he is not her partner was torturing her.
Zyrich didn't have any other choice but to let him do whatever he wanted. She was just silently praying for a miracle, hoping for the Alpha to stop. Fortunately, knocks interrupted them, saving her from the beast. She looked at the man overtop of her as he grunted and stood up.
“I will kill whoever ruins my sweet breakfast,” he hissed.
She sat up and fixed herself as she slid down the bed and walked to the comfort room. A deep breath of relief escaped her lips as she leaned on the closed door behind her. Her hand was on her chest, calming her ragged heart.
“Oh, thank you, moon goddess,” she whispered.
She jolted when a soft knock echoed from the outside. Thinking of the Alpha going inside the bathroom with her, she only opened the door enough for her head to peek.
“Y-Yes, darling?” she asked.
Gael looked at her confused. “Sorry, but I need to go. An urgent matter has come up.”
“That's okay. I understand,” she replied.
The Alpha smiled. “See you later, wife. I love you.”
“I-I love you, too,” she said, barely a whisper.
Then, he left, making her at ease. Zyrich cools herself with a warm bath and dresses elegantly, just like what Floryna told her. If she were the one to choose, she would have just stayed in the room for the whole day until Floryna arrived. But the culprit's instruction was clear; she needed to go out and mingle with others. So, she forced herself out and went to the garden.
“Luna Avery,” a soft voice from behind startled her. “It's been a while. How are you?”
Zyrich looked at the gorgeous woman. She knew her, Julia Haven Asis, the Beta and the best friend of the Alpha. Floryna warned her to be cautious around the Alpha's best friends. They had keen observation and sharp senses.
She smiled. “Hello, Julia. I am good. Thanks for asking.”
“I heard about your short vacation. How is it?” the lady asked.
She sighed. “Nothing much. Just the usual girl stuff.” Then, she looked at her with sharp eyes. “I thought there was an urgent matter that needed to be attended to? Do you have spare moments to wander around? Our morning quality time was r uined because of that.”
Her heart is beating fast and hard. She is not that kind of lady; brave and fierce, but she needed to be one. Although she feels sorry for spouting harsh words to Julia, she didn't have any other choice but to do it.
Julia slightly bowed. “I'm sorry, Luna. Excuse me.”
The Beta left, making her sigh in relief. But after a few minutes, another unexpected person spotted her. She was about to walk but the man waved at her and started coming towards her.
“Luna Avery, how are you?” the man asked.
He is one of the Alpha's best friends, Norman Malick Donato, the Gamma. She smiled. “I am fine. Thank you for asking.”
“What are you doing here alone?” he asked.
She eyed him sharply. “Am I not allowed to chill in my garden freely? Then, let me ask you a question, too. Why are you here, I thought there was an important matter that you guys needed to do?”
Malick awkwardly smiles as he scratches the back of his neck. “Sorry. I'm leaving.”
Zyrich nodded at him and watched him walk away. For the second time, she successfully avoided two potential threats on her job. Afraid that someone might go after her again, she decided to go inside the pack house.
The time passed by fast and it's already time for dinner. She was just finished taking a bath when the Alpha came with a warm smile. He hurrie,dl,y hugged her from behind and planted kisses on her neck.
“You smell so good, my love,” he whispered.
She smiled at him through the life-sized mirror. “You seem happy. What's the good news?”
“We successfully closed the deal and everyone was busy preparing dinner for the celebration,” he answered.
Zyrich patted his hands that were wrapped around her waist. “Congratulations. I knew that you could do that. I am always proud of you .”
“Thank you, my love. So, can you accompany me to the dining hall?” Gael asked.
She nodded. “Let me change my clothes first.”
He let go of her as she walked towards the wa rdrobe to change. She put on an elegant white and gold dress that truly hugged her figure. Then, she showed it to the Alpha who was already watching her.
“You are the most beautiful lady in the world, my love,” he smirked.
She smiled. “Thank you, darling.”
“Come on. Let's go,” he said.
She nodded and wrapped her hands around his arm. They walked side by side through the hallway down to the dining hall. And once they entered the hall, all eyes shifted to them. Some of them whispered praises for her beauty, and some of them were just envious of their relationship.
They walked between the crowd with their chins up and proud auras. Then, they sat on their chair, facing the pack members. But she thought of her and the two a unexpeca ted persons earlier sitting side by side together didn't cross her mind. Unfortunately, Julia was sitting beside her.
“Good evening, Luna,” the lady greeted.
To avoid further conversation, she just nodded at her as a response. She turned her attention to the Alpha and didn't even glance at the Beta beside her.
“Is something wwas rong, my love?” Gael asked.
She shook her head,. “I am just admiring you, darl, ing.”
The Alpha chuckled. “Don't tease me, my love. We are in front of everyone.”
Zyrich laughed and nodded at him. Then, Gael stood up, catching everyone's attention. “I ,would, like to thank everyone for mak ing this success possible. If not for all of you, this will never be done.” He cleared his throat. “Now, let's celebrate. Eat, drink, and have fun. Cheers!”
Everyone put their glass up as they howled in unison. She even joined them to solidify her disguise. Then, the celebration started. The clattering of the glass, plates, and utensils, al ong with the laughter, echoed throughout the hall.
“Try this roasted duck, my love. Our chef really did an awesome upgrade this time,” Gael said while putting some roasted du,ck on her plate.
She giggled. “Thank you, darling. You should eat, too.”
Zyrich, being in a poverty state evwith er since she was born and didn't had any chance to eat or experience lavish life, indulge in the delicious feast in front of her. She gladly took every dishes she saw and carefully tasted it. But despite of her excitement, she still tried her very best to act normal and maintain her disguise as Floryna Avery.
“I thought you hate seafood?” a confused but suspicious voice asked.
That question puzzled her as fear slowly creeping her out. She looked at the Beta who was already looking at her and gave her a judging and sharp glare. Then, she took a spoon full of buttered shrimp and slowly shoved it inside her mouth while looking at Julia.
“I said that I hate it but I didn't declare that I c,ant eat it. Whats wrong with that?” she asked.
Julia sighed. “I am just worried. I'm sorry, Luna.”
“Gael told me that the chef went all out for tonight's dinner. All the dishes looks delicious and somewhat...appetizing. I cant help it. You should eat, too,” she explained in an irritating tone.
The Beta nodded. “Alpha Gael was so happy wh,en we closed the deal. He indeed told the chef to upgrade his skills.”
“That explained it. You actually answered your question, Beta,” she sneered.
She heard Julia apologize but she just ignored her and turned to the, busy Alpha beside her. She clung her hand on his arm and started playing the pasta on her plate with her spoon.
“Bored? Do you want to go out for a bit?” Gael asked worriedly.
She looked up to him. “Nah. I am fine. Don't mind me.”
The Alpha chuckled and shoved a grape on her mouth. “latteront have to stay here if you already feel bored, my love.”
“Can I have some dessert?” she asked.
The man giggled and nodded. “Sure thing.”
Gael signalled someone and after a few minutes, a maid came with a plate of dessert. She kissed the Alpha on his cheeks, making him chuckled. Then, she started eating her cake while the man beside her continue chatting with someone while drinking beer.
Zyrich can feel her tummy full. She literally tasted every single dish in the table and now she's secretly massaging her stomach. She excused herself when the Alpha was busy talking and drinking with his colleagues and went out to the garden.
“Ohh, I wish that all of this is true. I wonder how happy our life is,” she mumbled.
She sat on the wooden bench and looked up at the stars. The moon is shining brightly is the sky and the mellow music from the inside makes everything magical. The thought of everything was truly hers; the lavish life, loving husband, and the beautiful pack was making her envious. If ever she had her family there and if only he was indeed Floryna Avery, she wouldn't have agreed to the job where she was now.
“She didn't even realize how lucky she was,” she whispered.
If only...
Is it wrong to be selfish sometimes? She was sure that every girl in the pack was envious of Avery. But the latter didn't even realize how lucky she was.
