Lauren stepped out of the car onto the sidewalk, immediately aware of the flash of a camera from across the street. Her body tensed, but Wyatt's hand on her back steadied her.

"Eyes on me," he said quietly, turning her to face him. His other hand came up to cup her cheek, and he smiled down at her with such warmth that for a moment she forgot they were performing. "Just me. You knew this was going to happen. Play along."
