I had no idea if she’d done it on purpose, whispering but making sure her voice was loud enough for me to hear her.

“Thank you for coming to our home, Luna.” Another woman said as she quickly slid in front of me, successfully blocking my path to the door. Her words were polite but I could see a glint of something in her eyes.
