“She’s waking up.” I heard a voice say just as I forced open my eyelids. They felt like they had been glued shut, and I blinked multiple times to regain focus, only to see three unlikely faces peering down at me.

“Wh-What’s going on?” I asked, my voice coming out scratchy like sandpaper on glass. My head throbbed painfully as if someone had taken a hammer to it.
