“Elena?” Draven called when I just sat staring at the phone for a long time. “Are you okay?”

“I’m okay.” I wanted to say, but the words felt heavy on my tongue.

I dropped my free hand into my lap quietly. Could they see me trembling? Could they see the shock rattling my whole body?
