YASMIN'S POV-
By the time I left the bathroom he was gone, no trace, I slapped my hand across my forehead.
Why did he have to go so soon, I don't even know when next I can meet him.
I guess this was some kind of one night stand for him.
I hope not.
The weekends were over which means I have to return to my friends, I had morning lectures tomorrow.
I checked my phone, only to see countless messages from John, my friend, few minutes ago, I had put the phone on silence so I missed his call.
I dialed his number a sec later, panicked, he had called 15 times something he unusually did, I wondered what was wrong.
"Norah's in the hospital" He said over the phone.
"Send me the address of the hospital, I'll be there after I've checked out of my hotel" I told him before ending the call.
I packed my mini suitcase and headed out the door, I guess I'll worry about Mr Wells later, my friend needs me at the moment.
After checking out of the hotel I hailed down a cab, by this time John had sent me the address.
<At the hospital>
I saw John taking a smoke a secluded corner outside the hospital, I approached him.
"Is she okay now? "I asked John.
"Go see for yourself" He replied calmly.
That calm voice obviously meant he was ready to murder someone.
"Room 601" He added.
John was always like this when trying not to throw a punch, I noticed.
"Why don't you just go fight him since you're all piped up" I said as i shrugged my shoulder to him.
Norah was more like my big sister from another mother, she saved me a long time ago but now she the one that needs the saving from her abusive husband.
I could only hope she doesn't have her miscarriage.
Honestly I was afraid of seeing her in any disfigured condition, the sight alone felt like a deja Vu.
"I just needed someone to give the go ahead" He chuckled, turning to leave.
"Not this time, John don't worsen the situation" I warned, reminding him of the time he took matters into his fists and almost went to jail.
"Come let's go keep her company, why are you even smoking near a hospital" I nagged, throwing an arm around his shoulder as we went into the hospital.
Upon entering the private patient room I saw her speaking to a doctor.
Some of her body parts were thoroughly wrapped with gauze, one of her eyes swollen, the other was spared.
"Mimi, THIS F*CKING DOCTORS AREN'T FUCKING TELLING WERE my BABY IS" Norah bellowed as she noticed my presence, she glared at the doctor and nurses, wanting answers.
Her eyes were clouded with hot tears that streamed down her cheeks as she yelled.
I could feel her pain, her agony, her fury.
Glancing at John, I approached her slowly.
"I want to talk to her, alone" I told the doctor, he nodded.
"Boss, might we have a word, outside" said the doctor to John to which he nodded and left with the doctor.
"I asked them, how's my baby..."
"Do you know what they said?"
"They ... said, Mrs James, unfortunately...you lost the baby"
She continued to murmur in between her sobs and sniffles.
"It's going to be alright Norah" I assured as I embraced her.
I kept quiet, robbing her back until she calmed down.
"I'm going to kill him" she cursed.
"Forget about it for now, think about yourself, you need to heal from this before killing anyone" I said, having her nod.
"What happened"
"I caught him fucking his whore on our bloody b e d, out of anger I slapped him and her.... and....and H-he retaliated...in the end he brought me here and abandoned me" She stuttered, her eyes clouding once more with hot salty liquid.
She opened her mouth wide and gasped for air, she wanted to scream but she gritted, her eyes were swollen enough, wouldn't crying only make it worse?
I wiped away her tears with my kerchief and cupped her face with my palms, saying,
"That's enough crying for today, get yourself a lawyer and divorce that demon of a man "
"But I love him"
Those words made my skin crawl, my hand tickled with the urge to slap the woman, maybe a decent slap will reset her brain.
I released her cheeks, staring at her blankly.
This wasn't her first miscarriage or first time in a hospital, she just never learns does she...
I'm starting to suspect that man of using voodoo on my poor friend.
or maybe she just needs therapy to fucking wake up!
" When one dips their five fingers in fire, they will get burned by it's flames, that's a universal known fact" I uttered, pacing around restlessly.
I don't mean to sound ancient but that just literal fact, maybe she'll make sense of it.
"Norah I don't want to lose a friend to a demon, neither do I want to stand in front of your gravestone, murmuring how good you've been" I said in one setting, trying to control the tears from falling.
Just thinking about that scenario made me want to cry, screaming.
"If you die today that ingrate will be free" I seethed, my nose scrunching at the thought of him.
"He's my husband"
"More like the demon sent to seduce and kill you"
"But... I love him_"
"Stop saying that, you sound like an imbecile for crying out loud, you're fucking UNREASONABLE!" I yelled, my lips forming a line after I replied.
When we had arguments, being polite was not an option, I'll always say it as it is
She can cry all she wants, It hurts me though but what hurts be more is seeing her blind to abuse
She married the man due to the pressure of her parents who owed his parent.
"I have no choice but to love him!" She responded.
" 'No choice' is also a choice" I retorted.
"You don't understand, he will kill me and my parents if I dared propose a divorce"
"If he was gonna kill you later why is he doing it now?" I ridiculed her statement.
I pulled out my phone, took a quick picture of her and showed it to her.
"Do you recognize this person ma'am?" I asked sarcastically.
"You're hurting me" she mumbled, looking away after taking a brief look at the picture.
"I know" I slide the phone back into my phone.
I rather hurt you with the truth than lose you to a lie...
"You think you have no one, here's a reminder that you have me and John" I said warmly, patting her shoulders
At that moment John came in, his expression was grim as he stared at us.
"Is she calm now?" He asked me.
Something about the way he spoke had me alarmed.
