I stopped my second before we reached the conference room. Ren stopped short beside me. I nodded for him to follow me into a small side room that had been left empty in the renovations. The dark room was illuminated by the soft sunlight bleeding through the drapery. The ugly heavy drapes were leftover from Aldo’s third wife’s decorations.
