It woke me up. The sound of someone tripping over furniture and grunting a loud curse shot me out of bed.

My day had been long resulting in her coming straight to bed right from the firm. Marcell had been unreachable all day. But Pauly had insisted that he was safe. I had learned primary lessons firsthand about how to trust not only myself but those around me in the last week.
