The tunnel breathes around us.

That is the only way I can describe it.

Not alive.

Not exactly.

But not empty either.

Every step sends a soft echo ahead of us, water rippling at our ankles, the sound folding back like the space is listening. The deeper we go, the quieter the world above becomes.

No shouting.
