Rissa’s POV

The sound beneath the tunnel does not feel natural.

It feels alive.

The moment it answers back, every instinct inside me screams.

Run.

The ground shakes violently beneath our feet as Mark drags me forward through the collapsing tunnel. Dust fills the air so thick I can barely breathe. Behind us, stone crashes endlessly into the chamber we barely escaped.

Josh coughs somewhere ahead. “Move faster!”

“I’m trying,” I snap.
