Riley’s POV

Cleo gives a few final brush strokes over my face. She steps away from me and looks at me carefully. “Good... I think you're ready,” she says.

I open my eyes and look at myself in the mirror.

“I think you've outdone yourself this time,” I tell her. She smiles, half with pride, half with nerves.

“Are you sure?” she asks nervously. I nod and stand up.
