“Sh*t,” I mutter and bite my lower lip. “I was hoping you wouldn't remember that.”

Cameron looks at me with apparent amusement. But there's something in his eyes, something that makes me feel alert.

It vaguely reminds me of the way Theo looks at me when he analyzes me. He too possesses one of those looks that seems to be able to pierce to the very depths of your being.
