We’ve come to ask for forgiveness.

Alicia's POV

"Hmm," I hummed as I opened my eyes weakly. I stared around the room trying to recall the unfamiliar room.

I shut my eyes before opening them again, I turned to my side to see him sleeping soundly beside me.

It was him. Williams, the wolf king.

My eyes widened in shock as I pulled away slowly from him, trying my best not to wake him up. I couldn't bear to see him again after all that happened last night.

I needed to leave.

I got down gently from the bed as I took my dress which laid on the floor, my hands trembled slightly as I tidied myself.

"Hmmm," I heard behind me as I turned back in fear of meeting with his gaze but he was still on the bed asleep.

Where did the voice come from?

I could have hallucinated that.

I wasted no more time as I adjusted my dress once again, I never bothered zipping it up properly as I rushed out of the room, fearing even the smallest sound would wake him.

I glanced around as I walked out of the room not noticing any wolf around, walking down the silent hallway, flashes of last night's passion replayed in my mind and I paused abruptly.

"Please, don't," I could remember how I had told him not to stop last night.

I shut my eyes as I recalled how he had kissed my lips, the caresses and the way he had made my heart race.

I blinked my eyes severally before glancing around, I cleared my throat nervously as I walked to the elevator which was empty.

"Are you prepared for this?" Williams's voice echoed in my head, and I shut my eyes leaning on the cold metal walls of the elevator.

"Alicia," I called before biting my lower lip.

I felt both regretful of my impulsiveness—sleeping with my best friend's brother—and yet unable to shake off the lingering heat of the night.

"Bye, Miss." A worker at the club greeted me as I walked to the parking area.

I ignored her as I got in my car driving to my house. My mind raced on the way home, wondering how to face the situation.

How will I ever face him again?

It was Williams, not just any man; he was the Alpha of the largest wolf pack in North America, Candy's older brother.

"Goodness," I muttered as I stepped on the accelerator.

I had thrown myself into his arms like some reckless woman. The only thing I could do now was retreat, go home, and figure out what to do next.

I eye searched before I tiptoed into my house, hoping to sneak back into my room unnoticed. I opened the door to my room with a smile on my face, glad I had escaped from anyone's watch.

I was about to go into my room when I heard my mother speak.

"Alicia," She called behind me.

Guilty tightened my throat as my eyes widened in shock. I shut my eyes, gritting my teeth before turning to her with a fake smile.

"Have you had breakfast?" She asked.

I signed lightly in relief, trying to hide my fear. "Sure," I answered with a smile.

"You should join us after freshening up," She said, and I nodded before walking into my room.

I locked the door to my room before sighing in relief as I rested my back on the door with my eyes shut.

"You're here." Mom said as I joined them at the dinning after freshening up.

I nodded before I spoke. "Morning, Dad," I greeted my father who sat at the center while sat to his left.

"Welcome, Alicia." He said, smiling at me.

I returned the smile also before turning back to Mom who had returned with the plates for serving.

I stood from my seat offering to help her with the plates. "Let me-"

"No, you don't have too," She interrupted, placing the plates on the dining table.

I smiled as I watched Mom serve the dishes. I turned to my father to see him staring at me, also still having a smile on his face.

I let out a chuckle as I stared at him and he did the same also. I didn't know why I had chuckled but I felt excited just by looking at his face.

"Enjoy," Mom said warmly.

The warmth made my nose sting, and right on cue, my stomach growled. Sitting at the dining table, surrounded by my family, I felt an overwhelming sense of comfort.

It felt like it had been years since we sat that way and by just staring at their faces I felt saved once again and I was reassured that I hadn't made a mistake.

"Delicious," I said, taking a bite of the meal.

"Sure it is," Mom answered as we both chuckled.

I resumed eating my food before raising my head again to see my father’s expression suddenly turn serious.

"What's wrong?" I was curious to know why he suddenly switched and that got Mom's attention too as she also stopped eating.

"Alpha Derek mind-linked me," He said, and I raised my brow, curious to know why Theo's father had contacted him.

Didn't we end whatever was between us already?

"What did he say?" Mom asked.

"Alpha Derek and his family are coming," He said, and I raised my brow confused.

What were they coming for?

Why were they visiting us after?

"Why are they-"

Mom's question was interrupted by the doorbell which rang.

We all exchanged glances, wanting to be certain we had heard the same thing. My dad stood from his seat and walked to the door.

He opened the door, staring expressionlessly at his visitors who stood outside.

"We apologize for coming at this hour but we have come to ask for Alicia's forgiveness," Luna Maya said as Theo’s entire family stood outside the room, claiming they had come to ask for my forgiveness.
