Chris stepped toward Jacob, a snarl pushing its way out of Chris’ throat.

Jacob growled back, pulling back into a fighting stance.

He stood there, smirking as if he had the upper hand. He acted as if this fight came out of their childhood competitions, some strong man competition to see who was better.

He wanted a contest, Chris wanted desolation.
