I have a hard time letting Milo go, letting him grow into the vampire he’s destined to become. I do feel the need to hover, to protect, to manage, though I’d never admit it to him. He’s had enough of that for a lifetime, and he’s not even technically alive. He’s a fledgling, not a child, and his status as such probably won’t last too long.
