Rose's POV

It's saturday and I won't be seeing the girls today because they are all busy with their own thing,Mira is on a date,Lala was taken to the pastor for prayers so she would pass her exams,and Stephanie is on a family picnic.

I always envy Stephanie for having a complete family.

she has the most sweetest Dad,and it brings me both joy and jealousy when I see them together,she is so lucky.

I live with my mum and my elder brother,we moved here after my father left us to marry someone else.

We were all broken at first, especially my mum.we weren't exactly a happy family type at first,it was a wounded home,because my dad was always cheating on my mum.

He still sends child support,but he doesn't care about anything else,my mum was broke for a while,and I will have to give it to my elder brother for being strong and helping mum out,I was so little back then,I didn't understand alot.

All I knew was that Daddy left us,I was sad untill I met the girls,they brought light to my life,they are my everything and I love them because without them,I will be a broken girl.

Anyways,it's my birthday on Tuesday,I am so happy,I can't wait,Mira said it was going to be a surprise party,so I don't really know what she is putting together,but she promised it will be fun.

I was lost in thought when my phone rang making me jump,I have this thing,always getting scared by the tinniest sounds, Lala said it must have been caused by a trauma from the past,but i really do not remember any traumatic event from the past.

I reached out for my phone and it was James calling.

"Hello",I said softly.

"Hey,why did it take you too long to pick the call", James said,clearly annoyed.

"are you telling me the reason you called or should I hang up",I said, trying to sound intimidating,lol,I learned that from Lala.

"wassup with you these days, you've been treating me like an outcast since school resumed",James said.

He is right,I haven't been a good bestie these days, I've been a little mean to him and it's because I like him,I like James,I don't know how it happened and I do not want to ruin our friendship with my one sided love,so I've been ignoring him lately, giving myself time to forget him,which is obviously not working.James is a true friend,he has always been there for me and uhm...,I tell him things I can't tell the girls.

"are we good?",I heard him say.

"Yea,we are good James",I said in a low voice.

"So,are you at home?",he asked.

"yup",I said.

"alright,see ya",he said and hung up.

"tok tok tok",i heard someone knock almost immediately after the call.

I went to opened the door and behold it was James standing there with a smile.

"surpriseee",he said as he opened his hands for a hug,i planted myself in his arms while i inhaled his fresh scent

"what are you doing here?",i said while biting my lips to keep myself from smiling wide.

"i brought your birthday gift,but if you do not want me here,i am leaving with it",he said as he prepared to leave,i quickly went to stop him by standing at the door.

"did you just say a birthday gift?",I said with a smile.

"Yes,check it out",he said and he hand a bag over to me.

I opened it and in there was a box,i opened the box and behold in there was the most beautiful pink dress I have ever seen.it looked like a princess dress but a short one.

"O...M...G",I said slowly,with my eyed wide open.

"You like it?",he asked,I looked at him with my mouth opened and replied.

"Like???,i love it",i jumped on him for a big hug.

"Thank you,James,this means alot to me",I said .

"You mean alot to me",he replied and this words successful made my heart skipped a beat.
