Faith in Love
"Baby girl, are you ready?" a man in his mid fifties walked towards a beautifully decorated room with photographs of an old man and a cheerful girl, their strong bonding clearly visible on the photographs itself.
"Yes daddy, I'm all set." a girl wearing a knee length peach coloured dress turned around to that man and smiled at him. Her black eyes sparkling, showing her happiness and her determination to do something in her life. Her black silky hair hanging till her mid waist, a small pointed nose and her thin and rosy lips curved into a beautiful smile as she looks at the man who's standing behind her with a proud smile and happy tears on his eyes.
"Daddy.... Please not today. I won't be able to stop myself from crying if I see you crying." she wiped the tears flowing on her daddy's wrinkled cheeks.
"I'm so proud of you my baby girl, Your mom would've been so happy if she'd be here with us today." he kissed on her forehead and wiped some drops of tears that were already flowing on her rosy cheeks.
"I know daddy. And I'm sure she must be happy wherever she is now." She said looking at the family photo frame hanging along with other photos on the wall.
"Hello young man and old lady." A lady in her twenties entered the room with a bouquet in her hands.
"Hey Melissa. But don't call my daughter old lady." Mr. Kennedy Parker, dear daddy welcomed the lady in her red backless dress reaching till her mid thighs and a bit bright makeup.
"Oh come on young man, look at your daughter, who dresses up like an oldie like her? At least not on graduation day." Melissa rolled her eyes at Mr. Parker.
"My daughter is a natural beauty. She looks beautiful in whatever she wears." said Mr.Parker proudly patting on his daughter's shoulder.
"Alright alright, I'm waiting for you two downstairs." Melissa walked downstairs swaying her hips right to left.
"Heli, I don't like this girl at all." Mr. Parker said irritated, rubbing his temple.
"Come on daddy, she's my best friend. I know she speaks a bit rudely but she's good at heart. She's been with me since my childhood and helped me a lot." She pulled her daddy's cheeks and laughed.
"Are you guys planning to stay in home all day?" Melissa shouted from downstairs.
"Why's she so loud?" Mr.Parker spoke agitated and she laughed at him. The three of them moved towards Winston University for the graduation ceremony.
"Ladies and gentlemen, today we all are here to celebrate the success of our dear students who got successful in securing their future. All of the students who are graduating today, I wish you all the best for your future ahead." Mr. Jack, the principal gave a speech in front of the great hall where the ceremony was being held and all the students along with their parents were seated.
"Now, we'll begin distributing the certificates and awards to our dear students. Let's start from the Department of Business Administration." Mr. Jack started announcing the names of the students and they were provided with the certificates by the chief guest.
"Now we shall move to the Department of Law." Mr.Jack announced the names of students turn by turn. "And now, the topper from the Department of Law this year is, Miss. Helena Parker." He announced the name and everyone turned around to look at the girl, who was already hugging her daddy with happy tears in her eyes.
"Go." the word came more like a whisper from Mr.Parker and she nodded at him. She started walking towards the stage with her head high and smile never leaving her face.
"Congratulations Helena. You made me proud. I knew you'd do this." Mr. Jack personally congratulated her before chief guest handed her the certificate and award.
"If you need any help from me at anytime, don't hesitate." Mr.Jack said patting her shoulder.
"Thank you sir. I'll always be thankful to you for your guidance and love all these years." Helena smiled at him, showing her gratitude.
"Congratulations old woman." Melissa hugged her after they all came out of the hall after the ceremony.
"Thank you Mel." Melissa is an important person in her life. She's one of the three person who matters to Helena besides her dad and Andrew.
"Your dear Andrew didn't come?" Mr.Parker said mockingly and helena knows that her daddy doesn't like Andrew, which is one of the biggest problem of her life.
"Daddy, he's busy in his projects. I can understand." Helena tried to cool her daddy down cause she doesn't want her daddy's health to degrade more.
"Let's go, we'll do a little celebration today." She pulled both of them towards a small cafe behind the university to light up the environment.
"Hmm...this choco lava cake is so yum." Melissa was enjoying every bit of the choco lava cake which was the most famous dish of the cafe.
"Dad, why aren't you eating anything and just looking at me like that?" Helena asked serving some food on Mr.Parker's plate.
"I'm just looking at my daughter who grew up so fast. I still can't believe that my baby girl has grown up to be fine lady now. I'm sure you'll have a beautiful life ahead. I won't be stressed even if I die now." Mr.Parker said with tears in his eyes.
"Dad." Helena's heart dropped listening upon her father's words.
"Oh come on. Not now. It's time to enjoy now. Eat this dish. It's so yum." Melissa interrupted in between before both father daughter could start their emotional scenes.
