Ready ?Daddy, You Are the Enemy One!
“Divorce? I do not agree!” The old lady sat on a leather sofa in the parlor, talking on the phone to her grandson James Anderson, completely unaware that Emily Scott had come out of the room.
Her face turned red with anger as she sternly reprimanded, “You’ve been gallivanting overseas with that woman for a year. Have you ever considered Emily’s feelings?
“Since she got pregnant, she’s been alone all the time. James, you have to come back to accompany her for the birth!”
Emily Scott stood there with her big pregnant belly, pale and desperate.
She tightly clenched her hands.
From the time she became pregnant until now, her husband James Anderson had been overseas. She thought he was busy with work, but never did she expect that he was with another woman, and he wanted a divorce.
Jame’s voice faintly came through the phone.
“Eva has something, and I have to stay here with her.”
“You! What about Emily and her unborn children?” The old lady was furious about her grandson’s words. “You are so irresponsible. The Anderson should be flawless, especially the young generation like you!”
James sneered, “Grandma, it’s you. You knew that I was not into her, yet you still trapped me to sleep with her, right? If you didn’t, then how could she get pregnant?”
From the moment they got married, he had already planned when he would divorce her. She was never the one he wanted to marry.
Emily was stunned, almost broke down. She felt like there were buzzes in her ears.
They’ve been married for two years, but James was extremely cold towards her, never allowing her to get close to him, let alone have sex with her..
She naively thought that she moved him, which was why they did it that night.
But that’s how things were...
James’s cold voice kept on, “And you deliberately hid it from me until her belly started showing, and then you told me I am gonna be a father. Grandma, from the day you forced me to marry her, you should have seen this coming.
“Anyway, I will definitely divorce her. As for the child...whatever.”
Outside, the nanny Mia came out of the kitchen and immediately noticed Emily standing nearby, and her slender legs were soaked in blood.
She screamed in panic, “Blood! Oh my god! Emily is bleeding!”
The next moment, Emily Scott collapsed to the ground.
Right before she fainted, she suddenly felt a sense of relief.
In an instant, the entire Anderson Family was in chaos.
In the hospital, the old lady, Mrs. Anderson anxiously waited outside the operating room.
After three hours of operation, the doctor came out and said regretfully, “We have done our best. That young lady has lost too much blood, and her will to live is weak. And...only one of the triplets survived...”
Upon hearing this, Mrs. Anderson fell backwards, but luckily, Mia quickly caught her.
Mia’s eyes turned red as she choked, “Madam, I feel sorry for that...”
James, who received the news in America, suddenly fell back into his seat.
On the sofa, James remained silent for a few seconds.
“James, I am sorry to here that... Are you okay?” Eva lay on the hospital bed, looking worried.
However, a hint of satisfaction flashed through her eyes when James did not look at her.
“That bitch finally die! All my troubles were gone.” She thought.
Then Eva lowered her head, as though filled with self-blame. “It’s all my fault. If I hadn’t been distracted, I wouldn’t have been hit by the car and you could accompany her...”
James furrowed, and spoke in a calm tone, “Nevermind, just have a good rest here, and I’ll have Joseph stay with you.”
Since Emily’s dead, he had no choice but to return, but looking at Eva’s injuries, he couldn’t leave just yet.
Eva acted obediently, nodding her head and understanding his intentions. “Ok, I would take care of myself, so just go and handle the emergencies.”
One day later, James returned, only to be met with an urn containing the remains of a mother and two children.
Mrs. Anderson no longer wanna scold him, and had Mia hand him a medical report.
“Emily suffered from prenatal depression. She kept it a secret from everyone, just so we would not worry.”
“James, you were right. It’s my irresponsibility that killed Emily.” Said Mrs. Anderson.
As he watched his grandmother cry in self-blame, he got a dull feeling.
He clenched the medical report tightly, and the burning veins on his hand shown his anxiety.
It seemed as though he wanted to tear the report into pieces.
Although he didn’t like Emily, he never expected her to die.
...
Five years later, in a famous business building in America, a confident, composed, and stunningly beautiful woman stood at the podium, introducing her design concept in a fluent English.
“That’s all my Starry Sea collection. I welcome your feedback.”
Someone in the audience started applauding, followed by a wave of applause.
Emily Scott...now known as Aria Stewart, smiled faintly, radiating confidence.
After the applause died down, a middle-aged man with blond hair and blue eyes stood up.
“Aria, your designs are quite outstanding. I believe it will astonish everyone in the Fashion Week..”
Aria humbly smiled and replied, “Thank you. This achievement is not only mine, but also the result of my team’s tireless efforts.”
“You are all amazing. Our company is honored to have such talented designers like you. Oh, by the way, our new boss from the UK will be joining us tomorrow. You should also attend the gathering.”
Aria nodded and agreed.
Five years ago, she came to America. After two-year studying, she successfully joined this publicly-listed company, which was ranked among the top five in the fashion industry and became a fashion designer.
In the past three years, she worked hard, got her position promoted and her salary increased, which all indicated her and her babies a bright future.
