Chapter 1 lose life at sea

The stormy sea raged as dark clouds loomed overhead. Heavy raindrops drummed against the cargo ship's deck, generating a loud, pulsating sound.

Raegan was soaked to the bone, her legs twisted painfully as she dragged herself across the deck. Her kneecaps had been shattered, forcing her to crawl only with her hands.

Blood seeped from her pants, quickly washed away by the rain. She coughed, spitting out more blood.

"Stay away… Don’t touch me!"

A group of burly men, their faces twisted into cruel smiles, advanced toward her. Only with undershirts, their eyes gleamed with evil intents.

"Ha! Where do you think you can run to now?" One of them sneered.

"This is international waters—no law, no one to save you. Just give up and have fun with us. After all, didn't we pay five thousand to purchase you? What a deal!"

Raegan couldn’t believe it. The man she loved so much had sold her to pirates.

As the tranquilizers began to take full effect, she heard familiar voices—James and Emily Taylor.

"James, the lawyer just called. Raegan had signed the equity transfer agreement. The Taylor Group is ours now."

"Ha, Raegan is such a fool. But her stupidity worked in our favor, didn't it? We had her right where we wanted."

"Exactly! Mitchel Johnson must have been under a spell to have fallen for her. By the way, did you hear that he was in a car accident while looking for her and is now in a coma?"

"Mnn… So that means Olivia is the current heiress to the Johnson Group. She's carrying Mitchel’s child. You’re close to her—make sure she gives some business to our Anderson Group. With the Taylor Group’s shares and the Johnson Group’s backing, I’ll be a top socialite in no time."

"And we owe it all to that idiot Raegan, so dumb enough to send her bestie to Mitchel’s bed.

"James, let’s get rid of her quickly. Once she’s out at sea, she’ll never come back. We’ve got a wedding to plan."

Raegan’s mind was slipping, but the words of James and Emily Taylor were like knives stabbing at her heart, keeping her painfully conscious.

Liars! All of them!

She bit her tongue hard, causing blood to sip, trying to fight back, but it was no use. They threw her onto the ship anyway.

As she looked out at the endless ocean, Raegan knew there was no escape. Whether she stayed or jumped, death is her only choice. Summoning the last of her strength, she crawled to the edge of the deck. The cold sea breeze, mixed with rain, cut into her face, but she remained determined.

"She's going to jump!" Someone shouted.

"Stop her!"

But a giant wave slammed against the ship, causing it to lurch. The men couldn't stop Raegan as she was thrown into the dark, cold ocean.

The icy water engulfed her, filling her lungs, and pulling her down. She felt suffocated.

Just before she lost consciousness, Raegan had one final thought: Emily Taylor, Olivia, James—I won't let you go unpunished, even as a ghost.

"No…"

"Raegan, what's so great about James that you love him so much?"

A cold voice snapped her back to consciousness. Her eyes fluttered open, tears mixing with rain. In her blurred vision, she saw a man with a face as perfect as a sculpture. His lips were pressed into a thin line, and his dark eyes were stormy and unforgiving.

He was leaning over her, making it hard for her to breathe.

Pain?

How could she feel pain? Wasn’t she dead?

"Raegan, don’t look so hurt."

The man's voice was cold, but familiar. The scene felt eerily familiar, too. She bit her lower lip, tasting blood. The pain reminded her that this wasn’t a dream.

She wasn’t dead. She had been reborn.

Time had reversed, and she was back a year earlier.

Looking at his impossibly handsome face, it felt like a lifetime had passed.

In her previous life, she had made so many mistakes—hurting not only herself but him as well.

But now, she had a second chance. She wouldn’t repeat the nightmare of her past life.

The man was just angrier while seeing her biting her lip and holding back her words.

"Raegan, don’t forget—you are my wife. I gave you a chance, and you forced my hand."

Raegan began to remember. She remembered how, in her past life, she had tried to abandon her marriage and elope with James, only to be caught by Mitchell Johnson. Enraged, he had ignored her pleas and raped her in his anger.

That night had been so brutal that she had passed out from the pain and spent a month recovering in the hospital.

Just then, a sudden sharp pain below her waist shot through her body, jolting her back to the present moment.

Did he really just…?

Terrified by the trauma from her previous life, Raegan began trembling. The more anxious she became, the worse it hurt.

“Honey, please be gentle… It hurts.” Raegan whispered softly into his ear.

In an unusual tone, Mitchell said, “You’d better think twice before you address me like that.”

Raegan adjusted her tone. “Dearest hubby.”

Hearing that, Mitchell allowed himself to be immersed once again in the enticing flirtation between them. With his vision taken away, his sense of touch became particularly acute. He felt Raegan’s delicate hands gliding along the inner edges of his thighs, rubbing and kneading with a steady rhythm.

As Raegan’s fingers wandered further, Mitchell felt her gently lifting his lower body, with her fingertips circling his glans. Exhilarated, his penis was engorged to become even harder.

Her low, soft plea had an unexpected effect on him.

In her past life, she had never called him by honey—only insulting him, calling him a pervert or a beast.

She just wanted to avoid ending up in the hospital again, so she hoped their first time sex could be a little more…normal, less painful.

It seemed that begging worked because the pain started to ease.

She loved Mitchell deeply.

Mitchell, still in his guise as a gentleman, pretended to enter that warm and wet cave with his burning rod, but repeatedly missed it.

Mitchell’s face changed colors—white to green, then green to black.

Suddenly, the weight on Raegan’s body lifted as he stood up.

Mitchell’s muscular body, with perfectly sculpted abs, was fully exposed, and Raegan blushed.

But then she thought, this is my husband, right? There’s no harm in looking.

His physique was on par with that of an international model. In her past life, Mitchell Johnson had always been ranked as the most desirable bachelor.

What sort of insane delusion had driven her to reject such a handsome, wealthy man who was utterly devoted to her, only to chase after a scumbag like James?

The more Raegan thought about it, the more intently she stared at Mitchell.

But he misinterpreted her gaze.

Just now, because of that one word—"honey"—he had stupidly lost focus. And after losing focus, he climaxed…

"Are you happy your little trick worked?"
