Chapter 1 I'm Pregnant, And She's Back

After six years of marriage, I made a devastating discovery—my husband was still in love with my sister. Maybe he'd, never truly loved me at all, or maybe he had never forgotten her.

On our sixth anniversary, I found out I was pregnant. What I didn't I know was that it was also the day my sister came back after her divorce.

"Congratulations, Mrs. Hudson! You're pregnant!" The doctor said, beaming with a warm smile.

I held the pregnancy test results in my hands trembling with excitement. My husband Vincent Hudson and I already had a son, Toby, who was just over five. But I'd always dreamed of having a little girl. Could this be a little gift from God, on our anniversary?

As soon as I left the hospital, I dialed Vincent's number.

After what felt like an eternity, he picked up. My voice shook as I started, "Honey, I have an amazing news! I—"

Before I could finish with ‘I'm pregnant’, I heard a familiar female voice in the background.

"Vincent, who're you talking to? You promised we'd spend the whole day together!" It was unmistakably my sister, Claire May's voice!

I froze, speechless.

"Something came up at work. I'll call you back," Vincent said, his tone cold, and hung up abruptly.

I stared at the screen in disbelief.

‘Hadn't Claire moved abroad six years ago? She'd married a foreigner and never returned. Was I hearing things? Why would she be with my husband now?’

My stomach churned, but I didn't just sit there, I hailed a cab to Hudson Enterprises to find Vincent.

During the ride, I tried to steady my breathing. Something told me everything was about to change.

Then, I saw Claire's Instagram post:

[Finally divorced. A new Chapter begins today.]

As a popular model, Claire received countless comments from fans congratulating her on this new Chapter.

My heart clenched when I saw the post. Claire was divorced!

As I scrolled through the comments in a panic, one particular response caught my eye.

[Congrats on your fresh start.]

It hit me like a ton of bricks—the comment was from my husband, ‘Vincent’. I was astonished at that moment.

My mind reeled. I'd always known Vincent had feelings for Claire. He'd even planned to marry her, but then...

Growing up, my family had always favored Claire, barely acknowledging me. She was everything I wasn't—beautiful and successful—while I'd always lived in her shadow.

The old familiar feeling of being invisible crept black, making it hard to breathe.

Another update from Claire popped up:

[Just landed! Finally back home.]

I froze in shock. ‘She was back?’

The post showed her at the airport, surrounded by fans, and glowing with beauty. But the worst part that caught my eye—what felt like a knife to my heart—was the man in the background.

It was my husband; he was waiting to pick her up.

‘Had he forgotten today was our wedding anniversary?’ He hadn't even sent me a "happy anniversary" message.

Tears blurred my vision as they fell, no matter how much I tried to wipe them away.

‘Maybe it's nothing. He's just picking her up as a family? That's all it is, right?’

I tried desperately to tell myself, but my thoughts were a whirlwind. Thirty minutes later, the cab stopped in front of Hudson Enterprises.

Standing before the impressive building, I hesitated. Vincent hated when I showed up at his office unannounced, but today was different.

Clutching my pregnancy test results, I stepped out of the cab just as a sleek Maybach pulled up to the entrance.

It was Vincent's car.

The door opened, and Vincent stepped out, looking as handsome as ever in his black suit, his deep blue eyes still capable of making my heart race.

Then Claire stepped out, wearing a red slip dress that clung to her ankles. She was stunning—the kind of beautiful that made me crazy with jealousy.

"Finally back home!" Claire cried, arms wide, and rushed to Vincent.

Vincent smiled at her—such a gentle smile—and before I knew it, she was in his arms.

I stood frozen, watching the scene. It felt like someone had ripped my heart out.

Seeing it all unfold, I couldn't keep lying to myself anymore.

My sister was really back, and my husband, he was still in love with her.

"Gabby? What're you doing here?" Vincent's voice broke through, his face registering surprise.

"Gabby?" Claire looked at me, equally shocked, but then gave me a soft smile, "It's been so long."

"Yeah, it has." I replied bitterly, my gaze locked on her hand.

She was holding onto Vincent's arm as if she had every right to be there, even though I was his wife.

I stumbled back, and the pregnancy test results slipped from my hand, falling to the ground.

"What's that?" Vincent asked, eyeing at the paper.

I took a shaky breath, fighting back the tears that kept coming, I started firmly, "Vincent, I need to tell you something important! We're going to have—"
