Tangled In A Bloodied Velvet
Arabella’s POV
“Everything's ready!” Skye announced, squealing and giggling. I just kept blushing. I had been dreaming of this day since the moment I had control over my consciousness. The only slight tweak was the I was the one doing the asking, not the other way around.
I took a deep breath, trying to keep myself calm, “are you sure I should do this?” I asked Skye who was overly excited.
“Yes girl!” She rolled her eyes at me. “Don't tell me you're getting cold feet?”
“No.” I shrugged. “What if he says no?”
“He won't. He dares not!” Skye said gently. “You guys have been together since high school, and I've always known that the two of you are meant to be together!”
“So, this is just you taking the bold step since he thinks he's not good enough for you yet.”
I took a deep sigh, taking the scary weight off my chest. I looked round the room Skye and I had set up for everything that'd come after the proposal.
“Oh God, I'm so going to wreck this bed.” I said, biting my lower lip softly.
“Yes girl! That's the energy I need from you.” Skye giggled.
I looked outside, and it was already getting dark.
“The reservation is in an hour, so you should probably get going, then surprise him with dinner.” Skye said.
“Then during dinner, you pop the question, and once that's done, you guys come back here, have a little party and make some babies.”
“And after that, y'all go on that trip to the Maldives baby!” She giggled . “You really did go all out on this Bella.”
“Okay.” I said, calming myself as I took another deep breath. That was probably the tenth I had taken in just five minutes.
“This is your sapphire ring in a velvet box!” Skye giggled, handing over the box to me. I played with it for a while, looking inside it, and taking a good look at all the sides. I had spent a fortune getting the ring, but it didn't even matter to me. I was deeply in love.
Julian was my high school sweetheart. We literally had the romance that only happens in movies. We had survived every hurdle, and now, I was going to make him my fiancé.
I grabbed the keys to my car, and I was on my way immediately. I drive a very cheap Nissan because I've been intensely and intentionally saving towards my future with Julian.
I arrived at his work place where he's the manager, Starlinks Building Company. After his mother had finally warmed up to me, she saw me as the perfect match for him. He's a civil engineer, and I'm a lawyer. What better match is there?
I parked my car in the garage, and I made my way to his office. I called him twice, but he wasn't picking up. I walked into the company and greeted a few people. I know some of them by name.
I made my way to his office, and wanted to check in with his assistant just to be sure he wasn't occupied, but she also wasn't in. The office has a strict policy against entering offices without being permitted.
I called him one more time, and he still didn't pick up.
“Let me just check him in his office.” I whispered to myself, walking slowly and gently to his office so as not to spook him. I wanted the whole thing the be a surprise.
As I got closer, I could hear strange sounds, sounds that made me question my own ears. His door was slightly opened, so I didn't have to knock.
I opened the door, and a part of me wished I hadn't. I was brought with the second most horrible sight I had seen in my entire life. The door barely creaked, so he was unaware that anyone had come in.
His hands gripped his assistant’s hair as she blew him. He was moaning, and his eyes were closed.
“You're so fucking great at this Lilly!” Julian moaned as Lilly made slurp slurp sound over his dick.
My heart broke into several pieces, witnessing my boyfriend cheat on me. He had done it a few times in the first six years, but he had totally changed the last few years, but this was one hell of a game changer.
My chest was hurting, and my heart was thumping really hard. I was losing my mind, and there was no one to save me.
My bag dropped to the floor, and the sound jolted the two of them.
“Holy shit!” Julian yelped as soon as he saw me.
“How could you?” I asked, close to tears.
“Ara, I swear it's not what it seems.” Julian said, pulling up his trousers. Lilly also did the same, buttoning her cloth and adjusting her shirt. She even had the audacity and time to clip her hair.
“Then what is it? You bastard?!” I snapped, now crying.
“I'm sorry baby. It was a mis… a mistake.” Julian begged, coming close to where I stood. I couldn't let him get close. Not when he knows how exactly to hold me to make me lose my mind.
I yanked out my gun from my bag, and I raised it at him.
“Stay the fuck away from me!” I yelled. Lilly hid behind Julian, and held him really tight, and that even infuriated me the more. “Else, I'll shoot you, her and then myself.”
“Ara… please.” Julian begged, trying to take a step closer.
“Raise your fucking hand, or I'll shoot your cock off!” I snapped, pointing my gun at him.
“Please, relax.” Julian begged.
“I was going to ask you to be my fucking husband, and yet you're fucking your assistant?” I cried harder.
“Baby please…”
“You both answer me at the same time, and I want the fucking truth.” I growled, wiping off my tears. “How long have you bastards been fucking?”
“A week.” Julian said.
“Two years.” Lilly said, and I gasped, feeling myself have a semi heart attack. It was strong enough to make me collapse, but I was still standing.
‘I'm done with you, Julian. I'm done!” I cried, taking my bag as I ran out of the place. Julian ran after me, but he was nowhere close to me.
Men are absolute scum and evil people!
I kept cleaning my tears however dark it was. I didn't want anyone to see me crying, especially not over a man.
I saw a random guy, and I stopped him, opened his hand, and I slammed the box into it.
He scoffed, “I do. I'll marry you.”
“Shut the fuck up!” I cried, running away. Those were the exact words I was hoping to hear from Julian, only to see him cheating .
I threw the gun into a dumpster, and I just ran, hoping that maybe somehow, the world would just rewind.
