Chapter 1: They don't really care about us

"Tsk, I must have been possessed to take this profession." I say to myself as I in a hundredth time tried giving Xuming medicine. Being a nurse in a physiatrist hospital had its pecks. The patients never truly knew what was good for them.

"Promise me that you'll play with me if I take the medicine." said Xuming with a (I'm trying to look cute) face, poor man has been in here ever since, his family long abandoned him in this shitty place, so I'm guessing I'm not the only pain in the neck in this fucked up world.

"Whether you take the medicine or not, it's up to you because at the end of the day, I still get paid while you end up in a casket or something. "

I smile brightly at Xuming, daring him to cry like he usually does. He reaches out to take the medicine and frowns at me, "You're bad, I don't wanna play with you anymore!" I take the cart to leave and look right back at him, "Man, like I give a fuck!" ......

"That's a bad word Missy...my mom says it's bad to swear, especially to your friends "Says Xumings roommate, Jinxing. I roll my eyes at him in annoyance. "Is that what she told you before dumping you in this place?" He looks at me in amusement, "OMG, Missy, how'd you know that?"

I shake my head and turn to leave, almost bumping into Doctor Luo, who was probably ease dropping again. "Wow, Missy, your tactic for getting them to drink their medicine is unique. " I sigh in resilience. Honestly, I couldn't care less if they take their medicine or not. After all, that shit just messes up your head more.....they'll never get better. No one will. But still, their so cold loved ones still send them to this kind of place like there's a chance for them to soon walk out of here all sane and healthy.

Doctor Luo looks at me with concern, "What's wrong, Missy, you look disturbed." I drag my cart to finally leave, "It's Marcela." I shout in response. Heck yeah, I was disturbed... anybody would if they worked here and specifically with Xuming and Jinxing ....those two were more than mentally ill for real.

I'm finally done for the day, I take a taxi for the first time in ages because I was not up to walking to the bus stop when it was about to rain. The taxi man eyes me in the review mirror and smirks, "Such a beautiful lady working at such a place? Are you sure you didn't get cheated to work in there." I smile brightly at him, "How sure are you that I work here, and not a patient who somehow managed to escape?" He laughs nervously and wipes his sweat away, "But you're wearing the uniform." I lean in further next to him, "Is your brain broken? Don't you watch movies? It's a disguise...you plonker learn."

The poor taxi driver scurries away as he drops me off. Traumatizing people was my way of letting nature know that, if I'm not going to have it easy, no one was either. I take the elevator upstairs to my apartment, counting the numbers as they go up. I bolt through right my apartment and into the shower.

My minds drift to all sorts of stuff, until my hand grazes the part I got his name tattooed on my body, right above my breast to my shoulder. " Ru Han," I say softly....damn, I really need to get this removed. Tell me why 16-year-old me thought it'd be cute and romantic to get your boyfriends name tattooed on your body?

As if that was not enough, my shower playlist skips to a song by Tyla, BACK TO YOU. Ouh hell no! I am not doing that.... Ru Han is my past, and we'll probably never meet again, right? He'll probably want to strangle me to death after what I did to him anyway.
