Dear Ex Husband How Do You Feel Becoming Inlaws
MALTIDA.
Tears gathered at the brim of my eyelids as words couldn't describe my pain. My hands holding the mouse trembled, as I bent over the laptop, my eyes growing wide from disbelief.
'no, no, no.' I thought, shaking my head in denial, refusing to believe George could do this to me.
No! I was probably hallucinating. I shut my eyes tightly, hoping when I reopened them, I would see something else, but no.
It was true. George had been cheating on me all along, and it was with her. I fell to the ground, clutching my hands all over my mouth to stiffen a scream, as tears gushed out of my eyes, rolling down my cheeks.
Just then, my phone rang, and I ignored it at first, before deciding to get up and go get it. I struggled to get to my feet, despite my legs wobbling, and staggered to where my phone was.
"Hello." I greeted, picking without even glancing at whom the caller was, but his voice that came up sent shivers down my spine.
"Hey, baby. It's me. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it home for dinner tonight. "Something important came up." He lied, and more tears came out of my eyes, as I sniffled, still shaking my head in denial.
'So it was really true'. I thought, wondering how he could do this to me.
"Are you there?" he asked, and I was about to reply, when........
"Sebastian, hurry up. "We don't have all day." A soft voice called out to him and I recognized it, it was truly her.
Finding this out was just like a knife was being twisted into my guts, but I decided to ask anyway.
"W-who is that?" I inquired, trying not to stutter and let my voice betray me, even though the hand holding the phone to my ear was already trembling.
There was silence for a while, and it sounded like he was breathing heavily, or hushing someone, but he finally spoke up.
"Uhn, n-no o-one, just my business partner." He lied again, and before I could say anything else, hung up the call on me.
I fell to the floor with a loud thud, my entire body shaking as I tried not to cry, but I just couldn't control my tears.
I thought he said there were no more. I thought he said she was just in town for some function, so why were her nudes all over his laptop?
"Arrrrgh!" I screamed out in anguish, taking my phone and slamming it against the wall, shattering it as I remembered what brought me to all these conclusions in the first place.
It was tonight. My birthday and we were supposed to celebrate it, over dinner. He promised not to ditch me as always and be there for me tonight, so I got the sexiest dress and sent all the maids home, deciding to cook for him, myself.
But then, he was running late, and I decided to wait for him in his studies and make use of his laptop to browse from mine, suddenly developed a fault when I discovered he had changed the password.
That got me all the more curious, so I decided to try every password I had in mind till one finally worked. The date he scribbled on a piece of paper on his desk, my birthday.
A smile curved up on my face as I operated his laptop only to receive some sort of notifications and discovered to my shock, Sebastian, my husband, had been cheating on me all this while.
And it wasn't my birthday he scribbled on the paper, it was hers. I remembered in tears as I saw all the lovely birthday messages he sent to her each year and the beautiful presents, while he never remembered mine unless I told him and barely got me anything.
All the while, I was the other girl who was just married to him in name.
"Will you wake up, you useless thing?". A familiar voice yelled, followed by a sharp kick to my ribs, as a hand reached out and grabbed me by my hair, tightly.
I flicked my eyelids open, letting out a groan filled with pain as I saw no one other than my mother-in-law who didn't like me, and never failed to show it.
My scalp felt like it was on fire with the way she gripped my hair so hard, like she wanted to pull the strands out.
"M-mother." I stuttered, trying to free her hands from my hair when she suddenly flung me away to the hard floor, like I was some piece of trash.
"Ouch." I shrieked as I fell to the hard concrete, my head hitting the coffee table nearby, and before I knew it, I blacked out, sinking into unconsciousness.
'Beep, Beep, Beep.'was what I heard, before I flipped my eyes open to find myself in a ward, everything covered in white.
'What was I doing here?' I pondered and immediately felt a headache hit me out of nowhere. It was just like a hammer was being hit on my head repeatedly.
I took my hand to my head, and widened my eyes in shock as I touched something soft instead, like gauze.
"Easy dear, the hit was massive.' I heard a warm voice say and turned to see no one other than a middle-aged man in a white coat, observing me from a corner.
I arched my eyebrows at him, wondering what I was doing here when all the memories came flooding back.
I went to my room last night, and cried myself to sleep.
Then Sebastian's mum, who hated me just as much as she hated broccoli, woke me up aggressively and threw me on the ground, leading me to hit my head against the coffee table in the room, and causing me to black out.
"Thank you." I appreciated, trying to smile at the doctor but failed as my head started aching again.
"It's nothing dear, just make sure not to stress your body or your baby next time". He said, a warning laced in his tone, and I was about to thank him, when it hit me again.
'Wait! what?'.
