Introduction
Aria Langley thought she found refuge in Damien Cross, her charming husband and heir to the powerful Cross Corporation. Vulnerable after her mother’s death, she clung to him only to be coldly betrayed. Manipulated into signing over her inheritance, Aria was stripped of everything she owned. Damien, with a sneer, confessed he had only ever loved Mira, Aria’s best friend. She didn’t know Mira had been sleeping with her husband all along, while gaslighting her into believing she was the problem. Shattered and alone, Aria walked away from the ashes of her former life. But fate has other plans. She collapses at the feet of **Lucas Rivera**, a man cast out by the same Cross family. Disowned by Max Cross after a secret DNA test revealed he wasn't his biological son, Lucas was left with nothing until he rose from obscurity and built a billion-dollar empire of his own. The world doesn’t know him as Lucas Cross but as Rivera, a phantom power in international business and tech. Lucas sees himself in Aria, a fellow survivor. What begins as an alliance forged in shared pain becomes something far more intimate. A slow-burning connection builds between them, one forged not in lust, but in **loyalty, honesty, and the quiet understanding of two people who’ve been discarded by those who claimed to love them. Together, they wage war. Aria, with Lucas’s backing, sues Damien reclaiming her estate and filing for **\$5 million in damages** for emotional and financial abuse. The lawsuit devastates Damien’s public image. His company's stocks plummet. Influential allies abandon him. But he and Mira don’t go down quietly. Mira, threatened and desperate, wages a smear campaign accusing Aria of being a gold-digger, leaking doctored photos, and planting fake stories across tabloids. She calls Aria a husband-hopper. Aria replies, without flinching: “At least I never stole another woman’s husband while smiling in her face.” Enraged, Mira tries to eliminate her. Two hired men are sent to kill Aria. But Lucas, her protector, arrives just in time and rushes her to the hospital. The attack became national news. Public sympathy swings fully in Aria’s favor. Mira begins to unravel. Damien’s life spirals into chaos. And all the while, **Lucas never leaves Aria’s side**. The love for each other becomes stronger no matter how Damien and Mira tries to bring them down. On the other hand, Damien is constantly abusing Aria. Following her up and down and always claiming that she is his and nobody else’s. Damien assaults her times without number but she stands up for herself. She gets a restraining order against Damien but that doesn’t stop him. It becomes worse. He feels no one can challenge him. Even the courts are subject to him. Damien begins to spiral. Watching Aria thrive while everything he built crumbles drives him to obsession. He tries to win her back, claiming Mira manipulated him, begging for forgiveness. But it’s not love, it's pride. Aria sees through him. A TV commercial comes up when he sees a little boy that looks exactly like him. He tries to obtain information and finds out that he is his son. He tries to take Irvin away from her but Aria won’t let it. She isn't going to give up custody of her child. Meanwhile, **Max Cross**, once the patriarch of the empire, announces his run for **Senate President** a last-ditch effort to salvage his legacy. But the past won't stay buried. Max’s campaign is threatened by whispers of his disowned bastard son Lucas Rivera and the fact that his “perfect” family is tearing itself apart. Desperate for unity, Max begs Lucas to support him publicly. But Lucas has no interest in helping the man who threw him away. Not until Max grovels not until he tells the truth. Max and Damien secretly form an alliance to destroy Lucas and Aria. They attempt corporate sabotage, bribe media figures, and even enlist political operatives to ruin Lucas’s public name. But Lucas plays the long game. He lets them get close… then flips the board. Meanwhile, **Ryan Cross**Max's estranged brother reveals a secret Aria never knew: her mother’s will was altered. The estate wasn’t just hers—it held dormant shares in Cross Corp, granting her influence in Damien’s crumbling empire. Damien sees that fighting isn’t getting him anywhere. He tries to beg Aria to take him back saying that he’s a changed man. He uses the influence of his son saying they can be a big happy family again so they will come back together but it’s too late as Aria tells him that she loves Lucas and will stay with him. Lucas proposes to Aria. She is pregnant with Lucas’s son and his happiness knows no bounds. Mira on the other end takes from Damien the little that is left. Seeing that his company is going down. She takes what she can and flees to another country with her lover leaving Damien to bear the consequences alone. Aria takes back what is rightfully hers. Sign these papers

Aria Langley dropped her bag on the table, calling out instinctively. “Damien?”

Silence.

She went upstairs and pushed the door open. She saw them.

Mira Dane.

On the edge of Aria’s white velvet sofa, holding a crystal glass of red wine laughing, like this was her home. She was putting on Aria’s robe.

Across from her, standing relaxed, smiling back was Damien Cross.

Aria’s husband.

“What the hell is going on here?” She demanded, stepping into the room.

Both heads turned. Mira blinked, then smiled. “You are home early.”

“What the hell is going on here Damien?” She demanded ignoring Mira.

“She lives here now.” Damien replied.

“I can see you are out of your senses. What do you mean she lives here?”

Mira, stood not bothering to close the robe.

“Yes I live here now. What are you going to do?”

Ari stared at her. “You are in my house, wearing my robe, drinking my wine…

Damien interrupted, calm as ever.. “correction. My wine. My robe. My house.”

“You are insane.” Aria said, eyes blazing. “Get her out now.”

“I’m not going anywhere, Didn’t you hear what he said? I live here now.” Mira snapped.

Aria stepped foward “Get out Mira. Before I drag you out by your knock off extensions.”

“Enough”. Damien yelled.

“How could you?” Aria turned to him.” Out of all the girls in the world to be with? You chose my best friend. “You are disgusting,” Damien. She spat.

“Since I’m disgusting why don’t you go ahead and leave?” Damien fired at her.

Excuse me?

“Sign these papers and get the hell out.” He yelled.

“What papers are these?” Aria said her voice trembling.

“Can’t you read? Those are divorce papers darling.” Mira replied eyeing her.

“You have one hour to sign those papers and fuck out. I’m done with this marriage. Leave my house now.” He commanded.

“This is my house.” Aria yelled trying to control her tears.

“Not anymore, he said.” You signed over everything. Remember the paper work I gave you after the funeral? For estate consolidation?”

He smiled evilly.

“Y.. you said it was to handle taxes.” Aria managed to say, tears flowing down her cheeks.

Damien smiled.” “And you didn’t read it just like I hoped.”

She staggered back a step, clutching the papers. “I.. I trusted you Damien and this….. you knew I was grieving and acted on it.. you told me it was for the taxes that you have gone through them and you just needed my signature…how could you Damien cross?”

“Aria Langley, I don’t have time for this. This crocodile tears you are shedding won’t help you. You have an hour to sign those papers get your stuff and fuck out.”

She signed and dropped the divorce papers at his feet.

“This isn’t over Damien Cross

“Yes it is.” Aria langley. Damien replied laughing hard.

Mira mimicked her. “This isn’t over Damien Cross. It is and he is mine bitch.” Mira laughed loudly.

Aria picked her suitcase and packed what she could get. She didn’t know where to start. The two people in her life had betrayed her the most but she knew this was far from being over.

Aria paused at the door. She looked at her tummy and placed her arms on her belly. “It’s just us now but it’s going to be okay.”

Then without turning around. She said clearly. “You will regret this. Both of you.” Then she slammed the door and headed out.
