My Best Friend's Girlfriend
Colt's POV.
Summer, my favorite season of the year. I get to sweat a lot and see a lot of hot bodies on the beach.
Currently on the plane from Belgium to California, I plan to spend this summer with my best friend, Jackson Warner, a Constructional Engineer. We met back in our high school days, where we became enemies at first sight. I was a badass bully and he was a goody-two-shoes. I bullied him on his first day of school and yikes, he stood up to me. The only first person who had ever confronted me in high school. The more he confronted me, the more I made his life miserable each day. Long story short, something happened and we both got into trouble. To save ourselves we had to cooperate and work together which was hell on Earth.
After being free from the trouble, I stopped bullying him and began looking out for him instead. In return he began helping me out with Maths, the subject I despise a lot.
Slowly we became friends and eventually best friends.
My phone beeped with a text from Jack, "Have you arrived?"
With a smile I texted back, "not yet."
In a few seconds he texted again, "let me know when you arrive, I'll come to pick you up."
Shaking my head, I chuckled. Sometimes he acts like I'm a little kid even though he's just a few months older than me.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we'll be starting our descent into Carlifornia International Airport shortly. Please make sure your seatbelts are securely fastened, electronic devices are in airplane mode, and all tray tables and seats are in their upright position. Our estimated arrival time is 2:15 PM Pacific Time. We'll do our best to ensure a smooth landing. Thank you for flying with American Airlines." The pilot's announcement echoed in the plane, preparing everyone for landing.
Just as I was putting my phone on airplane mode, a call came in. It was my secretary. With a swift move of my finger across the screen, I answered, "roll."
"Sir, Mr Daves is here at the company. He's requesting an urgent meeting with you," she reported.
Rubbing my temples, I sighed tiredly. Being a CEO is hectic! Never knew owning a proofreading agency could be this bustling.
"Handle the meeting, I'm on a plane to California," I ordered.
"Okay, sir," she answered and ended the call.
The plane rocked gently as it began its descent, and I leaned back in my seat, letting the anticipation of being in California wash over me.
As we touched down, the plane rattled slightly before settling onto the tarmac with a satisfying thud. I felt a surge of relief coursing through me.
Once the plane came to a complete stop, the passengers around me unbuckled their seatbelts and began to gather their things. I followed suit, checking my bag one last time before making my way to the exit. As I stepped off the plane and into the airport terminal, I was greeted by a throng of travelers bustling around, and the familiar smell of coffee wafted through the air.
I quickly found my way through customs, and after what felt like an eternity, I cleared the final security check and stepped out into the arrivals area and out of the airport.
Boarding a cab I arrived at my destination in exactly half an hour. I smirked, imagining Jack's surprised face when he sees me.
I rang the doorbell and after a few seconds, what came in front of me was two pointy boobs and a shaved cunt. She was naked. I'm a guy, a very bad one, so yeah I feasted my eyes on the appealing present before me just before she disappeared in a flash.
Am I at the wrong door or did that dude move without telling me his new address?
"Umm, excuse me, is this Jackson Warner's apartment?" I asked but got no response.
"Is this Jackson Warner's apartment?!" I asked again, this time louder than the last one.
"Yes," I heard her faint and tiny reply. "What do you want?" She asked.
"I'm his guest, didn't he tell you?!" I responded.
"Come in. He didn't go far so he'll be back soon." She said and I entered the house, rolling my suitcase behind me.
As I stepped into the apartment, I couldn't help but take in my surroundings. The place was looking better than the last time I was here. The place was stylishly decorated, a blend of modern chic and cozy warmth. A large window overlooked the bustling street below, allowing the afternoon light to stream in. But amidst my admiration of the decor, the memory of what I'd just seen nudged at the corners of my mind.
I couldn’t shake off the image of her. Probably Jack's girlfriend or a friend, who knew? But curiosity warred within me. I forced my gaze away from the door she'd slipped behind and focused instead on the living area. The faint sound of music floated in from another room, adding a laid-back vibe to my new surroundings.
“Uh, so… when do you think he'll return?” I called out, unsure if she could hear me.
“Just give him a minute!” came her muffled voice from the other side of the house.
I dragged my suitcase further inside and plopped it down beside the sleek couch. As I settled onto the couch, my mind wandered back to the unexpected greeting I had just received, a low chuckle slipped from my lips, shaking my head at the absurdity of it.
“Hope you’re ready for some wild parties, man,” I muttered to myself, trying to picture what Jack had gotten himself into since we last hung out.
Just then, the front door swung open, and in walked Jack, laughter spilling out before he even stepped fully through the threshold. “Hey! You made it!”
I stood up, grinning at my best friend, but my amusement quickly shifted as I took in his appearance. He looked great—tanned and fit from whatever lifestyle he’d been leading, with a bright smile that lit up the room.
“Yeah, couldn’t resist the chance to see my favorite goody-two-shoes again,” I joked, giving him a friendly shove.
“Glad to hear it! Come here, man!” He pulled me in for a hug, patting me on the back before stepping back. “I told you to let me know when the plane landed, why didn't you do so?" He asked and I simply shrugged.
"So finally the busy CEO paid me a visit," he teased me as we both plopped to a couch.
"Finally, he did," I joked in return.
"Babe?" He called out.
Oh, so she's his girlfriend.
Few minutes later, she stepped out from the hallway, into the living room, avoiding my gaze in every way possible.
"Colt, this is my girlfriend, Amber," Jack began the introduction.
"Good to see you pretty," I winked at her and she averted her gaze from me.
Wow! This girl is a beauty!
Her name, they suit her amber eyes. Her brown hair cascaded down her back, her eyebrow well carved, her curly long eyelashes, and those small luscious lips were calling me in.
"And babe, this is my best friend Colt, the guy I always tell you about." Jack finished the introduction.
"Nice to meet you, Colt," she said.
"Pleasure is all mine, beauty," I gave her an intense gaze that made her cheeks flush.
"Colt..." Jack sighed.
"Don't mind anything he says, babe. He's a goddamn bad boy," he said and I chuckled.
"So Colt, my girlfriend lives with me," he informed me.
She lives with him? Sweet! This vacation is gonna be very interesting!
"And babe, Colt's here for a vacation and he's gonna be with us here for the whole summer," he informed her too but I don't think she likes the idea. A flicker of panic flashed through her eyes.
