THE KING'S OBSESSION, THE MAFIA'S POSSESSION
I stormed off anger seething through my body. How could he release the news? It was a lie to protect myself, now the whole Palace knows about my pregnancy.
I found him, just few meters away from my room.
"Why did you do it? You really wanted to humiliate me ?" I asked as anger flowed through my body.
He stared at me, confusion written all over his face. "And why would you think that of me?," he responded quickly.
"Is this how you take revenge for not consumating the marriage?," I stared at him, my eyes blazing. This was becoming a disaster.
It all started as a lie. A lie to protect myself but now I become the talk of the palace. Breakfast for the noblemen. He stepped closer and lifted my chin so I look at him.
"Do you think I have time for such games princess? Besides, sooner or later, they were bound to find out"
I shoved him as I rolled my eyes at him. The guards immediately moved closer. He chuckled as he motioned for them to stand down.
"Princess, you really know how to push a man to his limits. Did you just roll your eyes at me?"
"And?," I asked, my chin lifted defiantly. He moved closer. His eyes filled with lust.
"I don't like people rolling their eyes at me but somehow you seem to have unlocked something in me," he answered. He was just few inches away from me.
My breath hitched. His hands grazed my shoulders and slowly moved to my waist. He brought his face closer to mine, and our lips were only apart by an inch.
I instinctively closed my eyes and heard a low chuckle from him. He was staring at me now. That mischievous look in his eyes again.
I broke out of his embrace, my cheeks burning red.
"Your highness," Cassandra called out, breaking the tension. "The king requests your presence in the meeting room." She turned towards Regal, bowing.
My heart dropped, the king probably summoned him because of the ongoing rumor. What have I done?
I watched as he turned and walked towards the meeting room, two guards right behind him.
Cassandra led me towards the breakfast room. The interior decor was breathtakingly beautiful. With gilded interior space, intricate architectural details, including arched doorways, and a grand crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling.
The room was furnished with a long, formal dining table set with vintage tableware and decorative pieces.
The dining table was filled with varieties of food. I didn't know which to start with. Just by looking at the way the table was set, it was obvious that this dinning room was mine and Regal's.
I sat slowly, with the maids coming around to serve me. I turned to see Cassandra walking out of the room. Her pace a little fast.
After breakfast, she was back and offered to give me a tour of the palace.
Regal sat at the other end of the grand table. King Adolphus and other noblemen were present.
His mind drifted back to Seraphina. She had a temper. A gaze that stripped him of his pride. Eyes that called unto him.
He closed his eyes as images of her lying naked in his bed formed in his head. Her soft moans which he imagined would be pleasant to his ears.
Her grey eyes beckoning him. Every thrust in her would feel heavenly. His hands rested on his chin as he struggled to keep himself under control.
King Adolphus waved his hand and the murmuring stop. His scanned the room and his gaze fell on Regal.
"Right from the moment I saw her, I knew she was trouble," he said as his eyes blazed. "She brought another man's child to the Ravaryn kingdom."
Regal stared at him and spoke calmly
"I'll take care of it."
The king slammed his hands on the table, his teeth gritted. The air shifted as the guards immediately placed their hands on their swords as if ready to attack. The noblemen were completely quiet.
"You think this is to be taken lightly?," he asked. "That whore brought another man's child"
Regal immediately shot up, his eyes becoming dark. "Watch what you say. That is my wife you are talking about."
The guards pulled out their swords and pointed it towards him. His two guards behind him moved closer and shielded him as they unshealth their sword.
The meeting room was starting to get chaotic. Every nobleman trying to stay alive in the mess.
King Adolphus walked towards Regal, his hands behind his back. His regalia dragging behind him. He placed his arm on Regal and gave out a small chuckle.
"You are the crowned prince, the future of Ravaryn is in your hands. Would you want to put a bastard on the throne?," he grinned triumphantly. Knowing how much Regal wanted the throne, and would do anything.
"Isn't a bastard sitting on it already?," Regal replied coldly. His eyes filled with rage. "No matter how hard you try, you can never be my King. The throne doesn't belong to you. It belongs to my father."
The smile faded off the King's face and before anything could happen, Lord Garrison, Regal's advisor stepped in.

As we walked passed the palace garden, I could feel the tension in the palace. The small whispers from the maids and servants and their eyes judging me.
I looked away, my shoulder still raised high. I wouldn't let myself to be bothered. They don't know that being a princess isn't as juicy as it seems.
Being forced in an arranged marriage and expected to share my bed with a stranger that same day?
Cassandra led me towards each mini castle. We walked passed the garage and I marvelled at the range of cars lined up in there.
Back inside the palace, we walked passed the different quarters and my eyes fell on a huge portrait of a young girl right outside Regal's chamber.
His chamber wasn't far from mine. I looked at Cassandra and noticed that her eyes lingered on the portrait more. There was something in her eyes. I couldn't really lay my hands on.
We continued and got to the meeting room. I heard voices coming out and one was Regal's voice.
Curiosity got the better of me and I leaned in to listen to the conversation. A small gasp escaped my lips as I heard him mention that King Adolphus wasn't his father.
What??????
I couldn't think about it as the trumpet blared and Regal stepped out of the room, the noblemen behind him. His eyes fell on me and I could sense the anger boiling in him.
The announcer's voice cut through the silence.
"Welcoming Princess Meridiya of Elowen."
A petite young lady appeared from behind her guards. Her silky chestnut hair was pinned. She walked graceful and elegantly towards us and bowed in a gentle posture.
Her big hazel eyes staring flirtatiously at Regal. She turned towards me and whispered. "So, you are the woman he chose over me."
I rolled my eyes. More palace drama. This is far from over.
