Introduction
He wrapped his palm on mine which held the doorknob. His broad chest leaning to my back and I was melting softly. I could feel his warm breath on my neck and I was trapped between him and the door. "Don't go veldana" Tears clouded my eyes as I couldn't breath yet I dared not turn to look at him "Mr Tyler... please...just let me go" He spun around gently, to look at him in the eyes and I could see the emotions there. "My last 24 hours...I want to spend it with you" I couldn't understand what he was saying but those eyes were drowning me already. "For once veldana...for once look at me without running away"

Chapter 1

Veldana

My grip on my luggage bag stiffen as sadness crown me. My eyes never flickered at the two people kissing passionately inside the sleek wall adjacent where I stood.

It's like I was watching a live video.

I guess they weren't expecting any guest and unfortunately, I know the password to this suite.

I heaved a sigh, slowly taking my phone from my back pocket just to place a call to him.

"Hello cadence" i muttered with a voice barely above a whisper.

He terminated the kiss, his eyes scrolled around while the woman in front of him goes down, possibly to suck his dick.

"Hey babe" he replied clearing his throat and running his fingers through his hair.

His eyes were unsettled just as my heart sank.

"Where are you? I really miss you"

"Work sweetie, I've been so busy...I wish you were here" he said and I could hear a soft gasp as his hand gripped the woman's hair.

Of course I was here! After the fucking long flight to come over to celebrate his promotion only to find him with a woman.

Oddly enough, our wedding is in three days. I was speechless, watching my fiance cheating on me.

"My boss is calling me now babe...sorry to hang up on you" his voice eluded my thoughts.

I inhaled softly, so curious to know who that woman was but then it hurts that I couldn't even stomp in.

"Goodbye" I whispered as tears brewed up in my eyes and that last statement meant everything.

I terminated the call as I could him giggling, possibly with the woman because he had succeeded in fooling me again.

Turning around, I walked away like I never saw anything heartbreaking or more like I lost my way and in a minute, I was already at the crosswalk, just staring at the vehicles that passes by.

A brief introduction about myself.

***

I'm veldana, an orphan I believed because talking about my irresponsible parents isn't a deal for me, I ran away from home to save myself from becoming...well away from that first.

In my lonely days, I worked hard to attain a suitable job though which I never got and just ended up doing menial ones like cleaning bars, being a waitress at club among others.

And then, I met him, cadence at a club, saved his ass from being whooped by my manager when his order was more than his bill.

He was literally depressed as me because we never got a chance to actualize our dreams.

And then we became friends, began dating.

I encouraged him never to give up and with one business request I wrote for him, he got his job and me? I'm still wishing.

Currently, he went to Italy, with claims that he had a promotional tour, and possibly because he knew I wouldn't come, he made a joke that he wish I was there.

Furthermore, he had even given me the suite address and password.

Now here I am, forgotten and being played.

Where do I even go from here? The only money left on me is my flight ticket back.

I can't stand the chance of him yet because if I do...I might...

No! I'm not my mom.

The beeping sound of my phone made my shoulders jump as I hastily responded to the call.

"Hey Lena!"

Finally, someone called to get me out of this depression. It's devastating because I can't even cry.

She's a friend and we've known each other for two years. If there's anyone anticipating for cadence and I to be married... it's her.

There's a reason why we are friends but it's a secret I swore to keep.

Besides, the rich doesn't cling to a low class for no reason.

"Is someone getting laid already?" She whispered in a mischievous tone and anger clouded my eyes as tears.

"Nope, things went away, I'd tell you all about what happened...right now I'm stucked here and I need to spend the night somewhere but I have no money for a hotel nor motel nor anything..."

"Hey, slow down, what happened?" She asked interrupting me, there's just this concern in her tone and my eyes lowered to my shoes.

The weather wasn't even favorable now as it seems as though it's about to rain with the harsh wind blasting my face.

"Please not now Lena..."

"Alright...well there's my once upon a time family house, it's free, i guess. There's no one there, I'd send you the address and password. Whatever it is that happened, just have fun dear"

"Thanks and I hope things goes well over there"

I wrapped up the call with a sad smile, still forcing myself not to cry.

Mustering up courage, I boarded a cab, and headed to the direction she had texted to my phone.

At least, I could trust her on that. Her family hold a property in every continent and Italy is more like her hometown until her family decided to move to Texas.

In what felt like an hour drive, I found myself standing at the large gates of this lonely castle and wow! I must say it's magnificent.

But then, my mind was too void to think about describing the beauty of this place as I push pass the gate, lazily, dragged my luggage with my heavy legs to the house.

It's more like a mansion that felt alive like someone actually lived here.

I guess being wealthy has one employing housekeepers to keep the old spirit alive.

I should have just headed straight to the guest room but then, my eyes caught sight of a mini bar at the lounge.

Maybe grabbing a bottle wasn't bad but when I got there, I ended up grabbing more than a bottle.

My luggage abandoned at the door, bottles scattered all over me and instead of crying...I was chuckling hard still finding it unbelievable.

Right now, I'm sitting on the floor, feeling so drowsy that it felt I'm seeing the stars while I hum a taunting tone.

A tone, the woman I call mother always sings for her next victim.

But I'm not her, I'd never be her.

Just as I've wanted, sleep was knocking on my eyes and I really want to wake up and realize this is just a dream.

I'd wake up in cadence arms and his enthralling smile and alluring eyes as he'd plant kisses on my forehead.

Clang!!

My shoulders jumped to my ears as my drowsy eyes shoot open. Everything becomes cautious to me and my blood dried.

I couldn't breath but fear had me scurrying up to my feet as the bottle I held was the perfect weapon.

Someone must have broken in! Shit.

The sound was soon replaced by footsteps.

Slowly, I strolled to where the sound was coming from which turns out to be the kitchen.

It didn't even click my mind to grab my phone along and place a call to the cops.

My heart stopped beating when I saw a shadow...really tall and massive on the wall.
