The night I Met The Alpha
The moonlight filtered through the canopy, casting silver patterns on the forest floor. I sat alone on a fallen log, fingers tracing the bark's rough texture, trying to calm the storm inside me.
"Storm!"
I turned to see Paige approaching, her hazel eyes gleaming with excitement.
"There you are," she said, settling beside me. "Everyone's getting ready for the ceremony. Aren't you excited?"
I shrugged, pulling my cloak tighter. "I guess."
"Come on," she nudged me playfully. "This is our first transformation. It's a big deal."
I glanced at her, then down at my hands. "It's just... I don't feel like I belong."
Paige frowned. "Because of your hair and eyes?"
I nodded. "Everyone else has dark hair and eyes. I'm the only one who looks like this."
She placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "That's what makes you special."
Before I could respond, Meghan appeared, her black hair cascading over her shoulders. "There you two are," she said, slightly out of breath. "The elders are calling for us."
We stood, brushing off our cloaks, and made our way to the clearing where the ceremony would take place.
The pack had gathered, forming a circle around a roaring bonfire. The elders stood at the center, their expressions solemn.
As we approached, I felt a pair of eyes on me. I looked up and met the gaze of Alpha Chase. His piercing blue eyes locked onto mine, and for a moment, the world faded away.
My heart raced. I quickly looked away, focusing on the ground.
"Storm," Meghan whispered, "did you see that? He was staring at you."
I nodded, trying to steady my breathing. "I noticed."
Paige smirked. "Looks like someone's caught the Alpha's eye."
I shook my head. "It's probably nothing."
But deep down, I knew it was something.
The ceremony began, with the elders speaking of tradition and the importance of our first transformation. As they spoke, I couldn't shake the feeling of being watched.
When it was time, we stepped forward, one by one, to receive the elders' blessings. As I approached, I felt a surge of energy, a connection to something greater.
After the ceremony, the pack dispersed, returning to their homes. I lingered, staring into the dying embers of the bonfire."Storm," a deep voice called.
I turned to see Alpha Chase standing a few feet away.
"Yes, Alpha?" I replied, bowing my head slightly.
He stepped closer, his gaze intense. "You did well tonight."
"Thank you," I murmured.
He hesitated, then added, "There's something different about you."
I looked up, meeting his eyes. "I know."
He nodded slowly. "We'll talk more soon."
With that, he turned and disappeared into the forest, leaving me alone with my thoughts and a heart pounding with anticipation.
